January 2011 - Images from the Community Garden

Despite the wind and cold, Mars and I wandered down to the garden plot for a little walk today.  Seeing the snow covered fields left us both longing for the days when we can once again dig in the dirt.

It's going to be a while yet!

In the meantime, here's a slideshow of the 2010 growing season at the Riverview Community Garden Society produced by fellow gardener Dennis Kakoske.  Perhaps, this will tide us over until the 2011 season begins.

Enjoy!

I loved that. I miss having growing things. However, soon we'll be able to start seeds!

BTW, we used to have a garden at St. Amant which was shown in the slides. We had big problems with flooding and kept losing crops. How do you people cope?

Love your site.
We moved into our home in West Winnipeg last fall, and much to my delight the prevous owner had put in a veggie garden. All this spring weather has sent me looking for some local gardening inspiration and guidance. Your posts have definately inspired me, especially the 'how we plant' posts.
Thanks so much.
