September 30 is the last day at the community garden. This week, the tractor will come with the cultivator and plow everything under. It is a sad day, especially since the weather is still so nice. But, so it goes.
I hauled in the last of our veggies on Friday. We had carrots, squash, leeks, celery, some dried bush beans for seed and a few runner beans for one last supper.
So far, I've frozen the celery (wash, chop, blanch for 3 minutes, cool, dry, freeze) and dehydrated the leeks (post tomorrow). Not sure what I'll do with the carrots and squash yet (the big zucchini is for seeds only).
